1. What do you supply?

The cabins are stocked with linens, garbage can liners, dish soap, and an initial supply of toilet paper. In addition, we provide an assortment of kitchen utensils, silverware, dishes, pots and pans, etc.

In addition, both cabins have a variety of games, and Harrison Spring Cabin has a supply of movie tapes to play on the TV/VCR/DVD.

2. What do we need to bring?

Of course, you need to bring your own food, condiments and drinks (including drinking water), as well as your personal toiletries.

3. Is housekeeping provided?

The cabin will be clean and tidy upon your arrival, but we do not provide housekeeping during your stay..

4. Is there a washer and dryer?

There is no washer and dryer. However, there is a laundromat in Leavenworth, and one in Corydon, which are about 7 miles away.

5. Are grills provided?

An outdoor gas grill is provided at Harrison Spring Cabin. You can also grill out over an open fire using the provided outdoor campfire ring.

Two grills are provided at Cardinal House Lodge. One is a gas grill and the other is a large charcoal grill. There is also an outdoor campfire ring.

6. Is firewood provided?

We take pride in supplying a starter quantity of seasoned firewood for guests to enjoy a couple of fires during their stay. Additional firewood is available for purchase. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood.

7. How close is the nearest grocery store?

Corydon was the first state capital and is still a sizeable city. Corydon has a Jay-C grocery store and a Wal-Mart super store, about 6 miles away.

8. Are pets allowed?

No pets are allowed at Harrison Spring Cabin.

The Cardinal House Lodge allows housebroken and well-behaved pets of any size. A fee of $40.00 per pet will be required at the time of reservation.

9. Is smoking allowed?

No smoking is allowed inside the cabins or screened areas. Please only smoke outside or in the open part of the porch. Please put your cigarette butts in ash trays and do not just pitch them over the rail.

10. Is there telephone service?

No telephone land line is available at either property. Generally cell phones can be used at Harrison Spring Cabin, but cell phone coverage is weak at Cardinal House.

11. Is there a television?

Harrison Spring Cabin has a television that only plays from the VCR/DVD. A variety of movie tapes are provided.

Cardinal House Lodge has no television. A variety of games are supplied.

12. Is there heating and air conditioning?

Harrison Spring Cabin has heating and air conditioning.

The Cardinal House Lodge is very open and has only a wood burning stove for heat. Cardinal House Lodge has NO AIR CONDITIONING at all. Several fans are supplied.

13. How many people do the cabins sleep?

A maximum of four people can stay in Harrison Spring Cabin. It has two private bedrooms, each with a double bed.

A maximum of twelve people can stay in Cardinal House. It has three bedrooms with double beds, four twin beds in an offset of the living area, and sleeping couches.

14. What if something needs repair during our stay?

All appliances will be fully functional at check-in. If any problems occur during your stay, please inform us - our only goal is for you to have a great stay.

Please report any problems, needed repairs, or inoperable equipment to the main office number at 812-267-3031 or 812-267-3030. We will have repairs made quickly and efficiently. No refunds or rate adjustments will be made for any mechanical failure.

15. Where can I get a fishing license?

The Wal-Mart in Corydon, Blue River Bait Shop on Hwy 62, and probably lots of other places sell fishing licenses.

In Leavenworth you can buy fishing licenses at Stephenson's General Store.

16. Where can I rent a boat?

You can rent canoes and kayaks for trips on the Blue River at Cave Country Canoes in nearby Milltown. To rent power boats you can go to Patoka Lake, which is about 30 minutes away. Power boats are not allowed on Blue River.

17. How far are you from French Lick?

We are 51 miles from French Lick. We are 7 miles west of Corydon, Indiana, right on the Blue River, very near where the Blue River runs under I-64.
